One of my past times, is going for a good walk. What i love about walking, is its good for your soul and mental health being outside with nature. I appreciate that it may be not everyones cup of tea. But it is also a cost effective way to lose weight as well as many other benefits. Save spending £30 + a month on gym membership. There are lots of places to go walking and can really up lift you're spirit this time of the year. It was one good thing about covid lockdowns you would bump into someone, who, you didnt necessarily know, but sparked conversation as people would say hello. I think i wasnt alone during lockdown as i saw lots of people walking. Like i said before walking is cost effective, if you can't afford a drink out, take a drink with you. As i was also saying about walking, having lots of benefits, sleeping is one, if you are struggling to doze off at night go for a walk earlier in the evening.
I used to be part of the Lincolnshire Wild life foundation and went to a couple of their places but again that costed and walking can be free in most parts. Have a look online for walking routes in your area. If you don't have the confidence to go out by yourself, then invite a friend to go with you.
I find it lovely this time of year, with plants and flowers out in full swing, its nice to see.
My car has been on and off the road couple of times this year and what it's taught me is to walk more and i really enjoy it. If anything i enjoy it more than driving, no parking costs or trying to find a space, you can wonder around in a nice river area, woodlands or urban areas. I also like doing photography so ideal to take you're smart phone with you and get taking some Photos of you're walk.
I don't use expensive walking shoes just a normal pair of shoes but with good socks on. I also find it more interesting than walking on a treadmill and you get to see nature in all its glory when walking.
Please see the Photos below of a walk around my local river i did earlier. Photos taken are of the river Welland in Spalding, Lincolnshire.
Happy walking!
