Since 2019 I have been a member of the Long Sutton Mens Shed and really enjoy it. There are lots of activities to do, from IT through to metal work and carpenty. But don''t worry, you don''t need to bring your own tools as everything you need is down there you just need to bring yourself.

The shed is the biggest of its kind in Europe, started orginally was setup by Ray Cutbill and mens sheds started back in Austrailia many years back.

I first come across the mens shed back in 2019 when i saw an advert in a local chippy advertising the shed so thought i would go along and havent regretted it since. You must be asking how much will it cost me, for an activity its very cost effective at £10 for annual subscription and £1 a time each time you go. The shed is open 3 days a week, and if like me, you work then they are open Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursday from 9 am to 1pm. Giving you plenty of time to have a chat or get involved in an activity. I have found the shed a good help to my mental health and have made lots of good friends down there.

The shed provide tea, coffee and biscuits so no need to bring youre lunch. The shed is located at the Silverwood garden centre in long sutton which is just off the A17 and is clearly sign posted so very easy to go to. There is also free parking available at the shed.

The shed also runs courses from First Aid through to dementia awareness.

The shed also has toilet facilities and these are wheel chair friendly access to most of the shed.

The mens shed, as the name suggests, is exclusively for men. But don''t worry, if you think your sons would like to go then there is also a Youth shed right next door.

So no matter if you just want somewhere to come down and have a chat, or fancy doing an activity. There is no pressure to when you come and go.

What something repairing, then no worries, the shed takes commisions in from tables to clocks. Our experienced members will do their up most best to repair / refurbish your items.
