In the run up to the biggest holiday in the Christian calendar, and for anyone who enjoys seeing the big red guy, it wouldn't be the season without local events held like the Spalding Castle Sports Complex Winter Festival.
My dad saw this advertised in the Spalding Voice news paper. One of four events aimed to raise money for next years flower parade. By which, they have already raised an impressive £50000 so it looks like this is back on next year.
Anyway, back to the event at hand. I decided to check this out with my mum, dad and my mate, mel, who i go fishing with.
This was a free event in walking distance of the town centre and there is also plenty of parking on site.
I must say this was an impressive event and is running all day today (11th November 2023).
What sort of things can you expect?
Well in true event style there was lots to have a look around in a marque and in the sports centre hall and plenty of things for your little ones to do. There was also a good range of food venders offering anything from a cup of tea and a doughnut to Carribean food all at prices you can expect from these type of events. But if you want to save some money then there is nothing stopping you bringing your own.
The event had a really good feel to it and everyone seemed in good spirits and i got to meet the big man himself, Santa.
I think one real bonus to this event is it was free to get in, there were also plenty of facilities should you need to spend a penny.
Would i recommend this event to others?
Yes, it was a great event to attend and was nice to see a fairly busy event.
