My Dad, is 70 today, yep the big 70, what better way to celebrate this big milestone than a meal out. With Dad, Mum, my mate mel and me.
Mum booked a table at the Royal Mail Cart in Spalding. Which went through a renovation and change of ownership earlier this year.
The Royal Mail cart have a set menu, offering 2 course meal, for about £20 and a 3 course for about £25.
Both me and dad had the prawn with sougher dough starter, and we wern't disappointed, the start was presented really well, and tasted really good. Mum and mel decided to not have a starter, in someways i wish i had done as well, not because It wasn't nice, it was, but the mains were really filling.
Dad, had fish & chips, i had the burger & chips, both mum and Mel opted for the roast beef well done. The mains were really tasty, best burger I've had in a long time, i struggled to eat it all. Everything was just right, very tasty good portion sizes and all for £20.
I must say since the refurbishment the facilities are really good, drinks were reasonable, i even had a couple of alcohol free beers, and was really good, i don't often drink, but as it was a special occasion, thought i would endulge myself.
Would I go back again?
The short answer is yes, the staff were really nice at all times, the food and drink is really good and its local, so you don't have to travel far. There is also plenty of parking to the side of the pub.
